Taya Zuyeva completed her first season as the assistant women's volleyball coach at the City College of New York in 2012.
In her first season, Zuyeva coach two City University of New York All-Stars - CUNYAC Player of the Year and Sportsmanship of the Year winner Dalliana Toussaint and conference Rookie of the Year Aimee Grossman.
Zuyeva, a former CCNY volleyball player, earned conference all-star honors in 2008 and 2009, the last season City College won the conference championship. Zuyeva was a three-year starter at outside hitter for the Beavers.
Upon graduation from CCNY in 2009, Zuyeva was hired to lead the women’s volleyball program at Medgar Evers College. The then 21-year old became the youngest coach in Medgar Evers history and youngest coach in CUNYAC.
At the helm of the Lady Cougars, Zuyeva and Medgar Evers defeated Yeshiva University, 3-0, in her coaching debut.
Before transferring to CCNY, Zuyeva was a member of the Baruch team that won the CUNYAC title in 2005, where she was named on the all-tournament team. Zuyeva earned Rookie of the Year honors while at Baruch and has the distinction of playing in the CUNYAC Championship game all four years.
Zuyeva graduated magna cum laude from CCNY with a degree in education in 2009. Her full name is Taisiya Zuyeva.
