The City College of New York Interim Director of Athletics
Steve Macias has named
Vaughn Ford interim head coach of CCNY's men's and women's volleyball programs for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
"I am happy to announce
Vaughn Ford as our new Interim Head Men's and Women's Volleyball coach," said Macias. "Vaughn has been a member of the City College Athletics family for the last five years. His knowledge and experience of the college, our student-athletes, and the game of volleyball are exceptionable. I look forward to working with Vaughn and his staff this upcoming year and continuing to build on the success of the men's and women's volleyball programs."
Ford takes the reins over the programs after serving as an assistant coach since fall 2017.
With the Beaver's men's volleyball program, Ford began as an assistant in 2018. He helped lead the program to three postseason appearances, including two trips to the CUNY Athletic Conference Championship Semifinals in 2019 and 2022. In his four seasons on the sidelines, the Beavers totaled a 52-26 overall record while earning two CUNYAC Player of the Year selections and one Rookie of the Year and Libero of the Year nods, along with five All-Conference honorees.
With City College's women's volleyball program, Ford spent the past four seasons as the lead assistant coach (2017-21) with the Beavers. He helped guide the program to three consecutive CUNYAC postseason bids, including a trip to the championship tournament semifinals in 2019. The Beavers finished the 2019 campaign with a 12-9 overall, their best finish since 2010. During his time with the program, he mentored two CUNYAC Sportsmanship Award recipients and two All-Conference honorees.
A CUNY graduate and former student-athlete, Ford earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Brooklyn College in 2015. At Brooklyn, he played for the Bulldogs on the men's volleyball team for three seasons.
