The City College of Ney York Athletics

Thierry Diessongo was atop the leaderboard in all four of his events and broke the school record in the 60m dash as the City College of New York dominated in Saturday’s Springfield College Meet to win the 10-team meet with 149 points.

In the 60m dash preliminaries, six Beavers placed in the top 10, led by Diessongo and Dehazya’s first and second place finishes, respectively, at 6.95 and 7.15. Diessongo’s performance in the finals (6.92) broke the record he set in the preliminaries and earned CCNY 10 points as the sophomore qualified for the CUNYAC Championship.

The record setting day continued as Diessongo finished first (22.96/10 points), en route to qualfying for the CTC Championships.

“Diessongo continues to move up the national rankings and continues to grow as the season goes on,” said Reid. “He is definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with.”

Diessongo, Alexander, Dehazya and Vanterpool qualified for ECAC’s with a first place finish in the 4x200 (1:32.69), earning 10 points for CCNY.
