City College of New York women's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-14) to United State Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. 

USMMA (10-5) took control of the first set by going on a 9-0 run. City (3-16) made an effort to go on a run, but they were unable to gain the competitive advantage. The Merchant Marines took the first set 25-10.

With the momentum of the first set, USMMA again started out on a 9-0 run. Knowing they were down and had ground to make up the Beavers fought hard for a victory. While CCNY continued to make an effort, they were unable to gain the advantage and fell 25-12 in the second set.

The third set started off with back-and-forth action as the Beavers continued to fight for a victory. USMMA took a 10-5 advantage that CCNY was unable to come back from. With a fight still in them, City put up big stops, but fell 25-14 in the final set of the match.

Angela Ubanwa led the Beavers with seven kills, while she also added seven digs. Vera Quispe tallied 18 digs, along with Irishyarsha Iyyadurai had nine. Magd Zamzam dished out 13 assists.

The team will travel to New Jersey City University for a tri-match on Saturday, October 3. They will first face Purchase College at 1 p.m. followed by NJCU at 3 p.m.
