The City College of New York women's volleyball team played in the first day of the Haverford/Swarthmore Tournament in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Day one consisted of the Beavers (0-2) first facing and falling 25-3, 25-6, 25-3 to Haverford (2-0). They then dropped the match 25-8, 25-8, 25-12 to Salisbury.
Match TwoCCNY was edged 25-8, 25-8, 25-12 by Salisbury in the second match of the Haverford/Swarthmore Tournament.
Angela Ubanwa led the Beavers with seven kills and tied a team--high four digs. Brigette Boser and
Veralucia Quispe added four digs a piece. Cassidy Iannaerillo dished out eight assists and had three service aces against the Seagulls.
Match OneCity College of New York fell 25-3, 25-6, 25-3 to Haverford in the first match of the tournament.
Veralucia Quispe led the team with six digs, while
Irishvarsha Iyyadurai added four. The team combined for three kills.
Haverford put up over a .600 attack percentage in each set, which the Beavers were unable to match to slow down the Fords.
The Haverford/Swarthmore tournament will continue Sunday with the Beavers facing New Paltz at 12 p.m. and Stevenson at 4 p.m.
