City College of New York women's volleyball team lost both of their matches during the second day of the Haverford/Swarthmore Tournament. The team first fell 25-10, 25-10, 25-13 to SUNY New Paltz and then 25-10, 25-7, 25-8 to Stevenson.
After the tournament,
Veralucia Quispe was named to to the All-Tournament team. In day one she had 10 digs. During the second day, she first had 16 digs against New Paltz, along with 14 digs against Stevenson. She also recorded one service ace.
Match Two (vs. Stevenson)City (0-5) fell in the second match of the day to Stevenson University (4-1).
Angela Ubanwa recorded a team high four kills and added five digs. Cassidy Ianariello dished out five assists.
Brigitte Bozer recorded seven digs.
The team recorded one block by Camilla Franco-Diaz and
Irishvarsha Iyyadurai.
Match One (vs. New Paltz)Ubanwa and Iyyadurai both had two kills against New Paltz. Iannariello dished out four assists, while Iyyadurai had 10 digs. Quispe had a team high 16 digs.
CCNY put up a .083 attack percentage in the third set, but New Paltz was able to win all three sets 25-10, 25-10, 25-13.
The Beavers return to Nat Holman Gymnasium on Tuesday, September 8 to face Summit at 7 p.m.
