Montclair, NJ - Senior Khalil Hamer scored a game-high 22 points in the first day of the 2016 Ollie Gelston Classic, but it was not enough in a 87-68 defeat to Moravian College in Montclair, NJ.
Hamer was 7-for-16 from the field with four steals and two assists in 35 minutes for the Beavers. Junior Sydney Josaphat added 11 points in 15 minutes played off the bench. He was 3-for-5 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Junior Salvatore Palazzolo chipped in 10 points and rebound. Senior Mark Richards posted nine points and four rebounds and three blocks in the loss. Senior David Solano finished with seven points and four rebounds.
Moravian College had four players record 11 or more points led by Sean Hanna's 14 point effort.
The Beavers are now 0-2 with the loss. The team will return to action tomorrow afternoon when they play host Montclair State University at 5pm.
