The City College of New York men's tennis team dropped their match 6-3 to Brooklyn College on Sunday, April 17. The match was played at Roosevelt Courts in Brooklyn, New York.
Pavel Shapturenka and
Simon Kashfi teamed up in doubles play and took the point on court one with an 8-2 victory. Brooklyn was able to take the points on point two and three.
Alejandro Varela and
Austin Thai fell 8-2 on court two.
Brian Chen and
Andrew Chen was defeated 8-5 on court three. The Bulldogs led 2-1 going into singles.
Kashfi continued his winning ways and took down Elliot Haddad 7-6, 6-3 in the number one position for a CCNY point.
Austin Thai picked up the only other points for CCNY with his 6-1, 6-0 victory on court five. Shapturenka gave a solid effort and won the second set but fell 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 on court two for Brooklyn's point.
Andrew Bregman was defeated on court three 6-7, 6-2, 7-6. Varela was taken down on court four 6-1, 6-4.
Andrew Chen took the first set 6-2, but was then defeated 6-3, 6-3 for Brooklyn to take the point. Brooklyn took the match 6-3.
City will travel to face Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference matchup on Thursday, April 21.
