Box Score Garden City, N.Y. - The City College of New York women's volleyball improved to 1-1 as it swept SUNY Old Westbury (25-9, 25-22, 25-20) on the road Tuesday night. As a team the Beaver were dominate throughout the match. The team had a total of 34 kills, 16 Aces, 34 Assist, and 36 Digs.
CCNY cruised in the first set to a, 25-9, victory holding Old Westbury to a -.143 attacking percentage. The second-set was a back-and-forth affair between the two teams. The set went eight lead changes. The Beavers trailed the start of the second set 9-12. The Beavers would answer back going on a 16-10 run to close out the set 25- 22.
The Beavers started the third on a 5-1 run before the Panthers would take a 8-3. The went back and fourth before CCNY would take the set 25-20.
Junior Angela Ubanwa led the team with a match high 17 Kills, 7 digs, 4 Aces and 2 Assist. Junior Tenaya Hawkins had a great performance posting a match 25 assist. Sophomore Camila Franco-Diaz had 4 kills, 2 Aces, 2 Assists, and 1 Block. Brigitte Bozer registered 5 Aces and 7 Digs. While Lesly Polanco put up 7 Digs.
