New York, NY – The CCNY women's volleyball program dropped a heartbreaker in four sets (25-14, 23-25, 26-24, 25-23) to The College of Old Westbury on Thursday evening. The contest was the season home-finale, and prior to the start, head coach
Andrijana Todorovic and the team honored the program's lone senior
Irishvarsha Iyyadurai for her outstanding career at CCNY.
Freshman
Yana Shaposhnikova recorded her third consecutive match with double-digit kills, ending with a match-high 17. She added eight digs, two block assists, and three service reception. Junior
Yasmine Bachtarzi collected nine kills and nine digs and was responsible for 10 points. Senior
Irishvarsha Iyyadurai added seven digs, four aces, and one solo block in her last match played at the Nat Holman Gymnasium.
Freshman
Dzeneta Harambasic contributed a season-high 32 assists in the loss. Junior
Camila Franco-Diaz notched eight kills in two sets played.
The Old Westbury Panthers were led by Kyraleigh Zinnels' 10 aces and 13 assists. Sidasia Johnson recorded seven kills, while Sofia Goris notched a match-high 22 digs.
The Beavers will have a weeks rest, before they step back into conference play with a trip to Brooklyn College on Thursday, Oct. 19 for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
