Camden, NJ – Four members of the CCNY Men's Basketball team scored in double figures as the Beavers fell to Rutgers-Camden, 85-74, on Monday.
After Rutgers jumped out to a 9-2 lead nearly three minutes into the contest, the Lavender & Black strung together a 10-2 run in less than two minutes to claim a 12-11 lead following a
James White 3-pointer with 15:06 remaining in the first half. After Yale took back the lead on a layup from Azar Swain, both teams would trade the lead nine times to lead the first half.
After shooting 50 percent (15-for-30) in the first half, CCNY only converted 39.3 percent (11-for-28) of its field goals in the final period and allowed Rutgers to 40.0 percent (14-for-35) and 91.7 percent from the free throw line (11-for-12) in the final 20 minutes.
Sophomore
Enesco Hunte finished the evening with 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists while playing 25 minutes. Junior
James White scored 13 points, on 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Samuel Williams produced 12 points and game-high 9 rebounds and while
Ian Javier chipped in a career-high 13 points, three rebounds and one block.
The CCNY men's basketball returns to action on Thursday, December 28, at Conectuit College. The tipoff is slated for 1:00 PM.
