New York, NY - The CCNY women's volleyball team fell to Farmingdale State College in three sets in a strong effort in its 2017 home opener at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. After losing the first set 25-6, the Beavers dropped the second and third with set scores of 25-17 and 25-23.
Freshmen
Yana Shaposhnikova led the Beavers with five kills and 16 digs. Junior's
Yasmine Bachtarzi and
Camila Franco-Diaz posted three kills a piece. Franco-Diaz also collected seven digs. Rookie
Christine Rosa had six assists.
Farmingdale was led by eight kills from Kelsey Voiklis and 12 assists, six digs and five kills from Julia Hande.
The Beavers return to non-conference action this weekend at Yeshiva University on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 12:00 pm.
