NEW YORK, NY – The CCNY women's volleyball program fell at John Jay College in straight sets, 3-0. The Bloodhounds led the entirety of the first set, sealing it with a 25-15 score. The Beavers forced a close second set but fell short of coming back, 25-19. The match came to a close in the third with the Bloodhounds controlling the set, 25-16.
Freshman
Melanie Torres had a team-high three kills and 11 attack chances. Fellow freshman
Yana Shaposhnikova ended up with five digs and two kills. Senior
Irishvarsha Iyyadurai contributed six digs, along with a pair of kills and two aces.
Brittany Steele had a match-high eight kills and 10.5 points scored for John Jay. Brianna Geraldo ended the night with seven kills on just two attack errors. She was responsible for eight points scored.
CCNY women's volleyball returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7:00 PM when the College of New Rochelle travels to the Nat Holman Gymnasium for a non-conference match.
