New York, NY - On Monday, the CCNY women's volleyball program split a CUNY Athletic Conference tri-match hosted by Hunter College. The Beavers fell to the Hawks in their first match before defeating York College.
The split moves the Beavers move to 6-9 overall and 3-4 in conference play while remaining in sixth place in the league standings heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Match 1: Hunter 3, CCNY 0
The Beavers dropped three sets to Hunter in the opening match of the day, as the Hawks took all three sets 25-10, 25-10, and 25-9.
Nicole Polanco,
Rachel Ramirez, and
Nadia Campoverde each had two kills in the lost.
Dzeneta Harambasic finished with nine assist and eight digs while Polanco added eight digs and
Oanh Han ended with seven.
Match 2: CCNY 3, York 0
In Monday's finale, the Beavers bounced back to sweep York in straight sets 25-15, 25-9, and 25-4.
Nicole Polanco led the Beavers with a season-high 14 kills and 13 digs in the win.
Nadia Campoverde came up with eight digs four kills.
Dzeneta Harambasic collected seven aces, while Ramirez and
Kayla Oge each recorded five. Harambasic also dished out a match-high 19 assists.
The Beavers return to action tomorrow evening hosting NJCU in their final home match of the season. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
