New York, N.Y.- In their 2018 conference opener on Saturday, the CCNY women's volleyball team split its two matches of the day. The Beavers fell to Staten Island in the opener and defeated Lehman College in four sets. 

The Beavers move to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play after Saturday's split.

Match 1: CSI 3, CCNY 0
The Beavers dropped three close sets in Saturday's opener. CCNY dropped the first frame, 25-21 in the second, and 25-14.

Rachel Ramirez and Cha-Neice Gordon tied with four kills each, while Kayla Oge tallied three kills and four blocks. Nadia Campoverde and  Ramirez finished with four services aces each.

Match 2: CCNY 3, Lehman 1
The Beavers picked up the first two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-17. Lehman was determined to keep the match going, and pulled out the third set, 25-12. The Beavers rebounded to close out the match with a 26-24 win.

Nicole Polanco led the Beavers with seven kills in Saturday's closer, while Rachel Ramirez, and Cha-Neice Gordon each slammed down six kills. Nadia Campoverde registered three blocks, while Ramirez and Kayla Oge each recorded two. Polanco and Gordon picked up 11 digs apiece, while Dzeneta Harambasic dished out 30 assists.

The Beavers return to action making a trip to Newburgh, N.Y. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, where they will take on Mount Saint Mary College.
