Brooklyn, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team fought hard Wednesday night against Brooklyn College, erasing a seven-point deficit late in the second half to force overtime, but fell to the Bulldogs in the final seconds, 85-83.
The Beavers fall to 5-9 overall and 1-4 CUNY Athletic Conference play.
Sophomore Daniel Piszczatowski led CCNY, tallying his second double-double of the year with a career-high 26 points and ten points, along with three assists and two steals. Sophomore Yassine Sakhi posted 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and a block. Freshman Bayame Bah added 12 points and six rebounds.
Junior Dashaun Galloway ended the night with seven points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Sophomore Amir Assani picked up ten rebounds, five points, five assists, and a pair of blocks. Senior Joey Leighton notched six points, three assists, and two rebounds, while freshman Elijah Patterson recorded six points and three rebounds.
The Beavers shot 42.9% from the floor and 28.0 % from beyond the arc. CCNY outrebounded the Bulldogs 51-to-36 in the contest.
Next, the Beavers will take on the Hunter College Hawks on Friday, Jan. 21, on the road at 7:00 p.m.
