New York, NY – The City College of New York men's basketball came up short Friday evening, dropping a CUNY Athletic Conference matchup on the road against Hunter College, 111-99. The Beavers fall to 5-10 overall and 1-5 in league play with the loss.
Junior
Daniel Piszczatowski led the Beavers with a career-high 33 points in the game, adding 11 rebounds, five assists, and a pair of steals. Freshman
Yassine Sakhi added 16 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. Senior
Joey Leighton finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Sophomore
Amir Assani totaled 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Freshman
Bayame Bah netted a season-high 16 points, along with six rebounds, three assists, and a block.
Elijah Patterson added five rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and three points.
The Beavers shot 51.9 % in the game, holding Hunter to just 39.0 % from the field. The Hawks controlled traffic under the rim, outrebounding the Beavers, 58-55.
The Beavers will look to bounce back on Tuesday, Jan. 25, when they head downtown to take on the Bearcats of Baruch College at 7:00 p.m.
