Poughkeepsie, NY - The City College of New York women's fencing program continued its season on Sunday, placing sixth overall at the Matt Lampell Invitational, hosted by Vassar College.
The Beavers earned two wins, defeating Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 17-8, and Yeshiva University, 20-7.
The Beavers Foil crew led the, going 5-2 on the day while accumulating a 40-23 record. Freshmen Oumou Diallo and Simona Isakova led the Beavers, going 13-5. Freshman Carol Lee finished the day going 12-9, while sophomore Alejandra Castillo notched a 3-0 record.
The epee squad went 2-5, defeating RPI and Yeshiva. The sabre squad finished 1-7 on the day, edging Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 5-4. Freshmen Sabreists Samantha Ortega, Alexa Rodriguez, and Heaven Castillo each posted a 4-14 record.
Next, the Beavers take on Hunter College on Friday, Dec. 2, at 7:00 p.m.
