Riverdale, NY – The City College of New York men's volleyball team earned its second straight win on Tuesday night, earning a three-set victory (25-12, 25-17, 25-13) over the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The Beavers improve to 2-0 on the year with the victory.
Sophomore Xhulio Myftari led the Beavers with a match-high 13 kills, eight digs, and three blocks. Freshman Utpal Chand had a solid outing, finishing with six kills, six aces, and five digs. Rookie Rahul Sharma collected six kills, two aces, and a match-high 11 digs.
Freshman Jeffrey Celis notched a match-high 26 assists in his season debut. Edwin Fierros Gaytan added three service aces and four digs.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 12, in their 2022 home opener, hosting a tri-match at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Beavers open the day hosting St. Joseph College - Brooklyn at 10:00 a.m., followed by King's College at noon.
