Chambersburg, PA - The CCNY baseball program continued their five-game weekend road trip, dropping a pair of games against Wilson College on Saturday. The losses drop the Beavers to 1-3 on the season.
Game One: Wilson 10, CCNY 2
Freshman Jonathan Rivera scored the Beaver's first run of the day on a solo home run in the top of the fourth. The following inning, freshman Jason Rodriguez earned his first hit of the season, blasting a one-run homer of his own for the team's second run of the game. Freshman Eric Romero tallied one hit in the game, his third of the season.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Max Murray took the loss on the mound after allowing nine runs across 4.0 frames and striking out three batters. Freshman Stephen Suprun struck out two batters, yielding one run on no hits in 2.0 innings of relief work.
Game Two: Wilson 7, CCNY 0
In game two, freshman Victor Murra Schott finished 2-for-3, earning a base hit in the fourth and sixth innings. Ethan Angress batted 1-for-2, notching his first hit of the season in the fourth inning.
Brandon Paider took the loss in his second start for the Beavers, yielding five earned runs in 3.2 frames with two strikeouts. Richard Vento went the final 2.3 innings for the Beavers, striking out three batters while allowing two runs on three hits.
Next, the Beavers close out the weekend on Sunday, Mar. 6, with a non-conference doubleheader against the College of Mount Saint Vincent beginning at 11:00 a.m.
