Brooklyn, NY - The City College of New York women's soccer team earned their first win of the 2022 season on Saturday evening, shutting out St. Joseph's University - Brooklyn on the road, 3-0. The win lifts the Beavers to 1-0-1, while the Bears drop to 1-2.
Junior
Skylar Parker powered CCNY's offense with a pair of goals in the win. She tallied her first maker in the sixth minute to put the Beavers ahead early. Parker found the back of the net again in the 14th minute, chipping her second goal of the day to jump the Beaver's lead to 2-0.
The Lavender & Black extended their lead to 3-0 in the 27th minute when sophomore
Charlotte Foberg knocked in a free kick.
Freshman
Amelia Cataldo registered her win of the season in goal, making six saves.
In all, the Beavers outshot St. Joseph's by a margin of 24-10 and held 9-6 shots on goal advantage.
Next, the Beavers return home for their 2022 home opener, hosting Old Westbury on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Randall's Island - Field 10 at 7:00 p.m.
