New York, NY - The City College of New York women's soccer team was victorious in their 2022 home opener, shutting out The College at Old Westbury, 1-0. With the win, the Beavers improve to 2-0-1 on the season.
Junior
Skylar Parker scored the Beaver's lone goal, netting the game-winner in the 62nd minute to lift CCNY to victory over the Panthers. Parker led the team's offensive attack, tallying 15 shots and rattling eight on goal in the match. Junior
Cassidy Canberg finished with eight, with five on target.
The Beavers played a tremendous defensive game, allowing the Panther to finish with nine shots, with two shots on goals; the lowest amount of attempts allowed this season by the Beavers.
Freshman
Amelia Cataldo played a full match in goal, making two saves to improve to 2-0-1 on the season.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17, with a non-conference road match at Sarah Lawrence College at noon.
