New York, NY - The City College of New York women's volleyball team returned to the Nat Holman Gymnasium on Friday night, defeating Purchase College in straight sets. The victory boosts the Beavers to 6-1 overall.
The Beavers controlled the pace of the match from start to finish, taking the contest with sets scores of 25-11, 25-6, and 25-14.
Sophomore
Bianka Catral nearly had a double-double with eight kills and ten digs. Freshman
Aubrey Jones dished out a match-high 18 assists to go with four digs, along with three aces.
Sophomore
Serena Warner collected a season-high six kills and two blocks. Freshman
Fatimah Coppin had an impressive debut, adding four kills, three digs, one ace, and an assist in her first match with the Beavers. Sophomore
Viviana Alatorre added nine digs, while senior
Nadia Campoverde had eight.
Next, the Beavers return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 20, returning to conference action on the road against York College.
