CCNY Men's Basketball Runs Past Hunter for Seventh Straight Win, 98-83

New York, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team kept their win streak moving forward Friday night, defeating Hunter College, 98-83, in front of a home crowd at the Nat Holman Gymnasium on Alumni Night. 

The Beavers extended their win streak to seven consecutive games, improving to 12-6 on the season while remaining atop the CUNY Athletic Conference with a 7-0 mark. 

Junior Yassine Sakhi returned to action for the Beavers, finishing with a career-high of 30 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Junior Nana Oteng tallied 18 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Senior Daniel Piszczatowski added 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Junior Amir Assani picked up his second double-double of the season with 10 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, six blocks, and three steals. Senior Dashaun Galloway tallied eight rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and two points.

CCNY shot a season-high 51.4 percent from the floor and stacked up an impressive season-high 12 blocks. The Beavers also controlled the glass, outrebounding the Hawks 58-36, a new season-high.

Next, the Beavers close their home stand by hosting Baruch College on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 7:00 p.m.
