Newark, NJ - The City College of New York men's cross country team competed on Saturday at the 2023 Highlander XC Challenge, hosted by NJIT Branch Brook Park.

Freshman Gian-Carlo Riehl netted a new personal-best time running 29:46.3. Junior Edy Morales crossed the line next to the Beavers, running 29:48.3, his fastest time of the season. Junior Christian Rasmussen finished next for CCNY, logging a season-best time of 31:45.8.

Senior Damian Rivera completed the 8K course in a time of 40:21.1, while freshmen Chengshui Zhu ran 45:34.3, and Riley Mercedes drew a time of 51:47.0.

Next, the CCNY cross country program will compete at the SJLI Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, NY.
