New York, NY - The City College of New York men's volleyball team swept Medgar Evers College in straight sets on Thursday evening at home. The victory marks the Beaver's third straight win, improving to 9-3 on the season and 4-3 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.
City College took the first set over Medgar Evers, 25-21. The Beavers and the Cougars battled in the second set, with the Beavers pulling a 25-21 win. CCNY closed the match in the final frame with a 25-21 set victory.
Freshman Prabodh KC totaled a season-high 13 kills and nine digs to lead the Beavers. Sophomore Tenzin Tsepak notched six kills and three blocks. Junior Jeffrey Celis dished out a match-high 27 assists, three kills, three aces, and seven digs.
Sophomore Reng Chen finished the night with five kills and two digs. Sophomore Edwin Fierros Gaytan tallied eight digs and three assists.
Next, CCNY returns home to host Lehman College on Saturday, Mar. 16, at noon.
