Newark, NJ - The City College of New York women's cross country team delivered a strong showing on Saturday, placing fourth overall in the open section of the 2025 NJIT XC Challenge, held at Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey.
Sophomore Norma Flores led the Beavers with a 26th-place finish, clocking 22:19.5 over the 5K course. Junior Isabelle Ashpole followed in 23:27.8 (37th), and sophomore Karuna Aikawa was close behind in 23:33.0 (39th).
First-year runners Charlotte Goodell-Koenig (24:19.3 – 45th) and Natalya Golia (25:03.0 – 51st) rounded out the top five for CCNY. Susan Smolaga (25:37.1 – 57th) and Lizbeth Diaz (27:26.8 – 71st) completed the Beavers' seven scoring runners.
Also competing for CCNY were Angelika Polanco (27:30.6 – 72nd), Fahmida Choudhury (28:16.5 – 81st), and Jennifer Cuba (28:24.5 – 83rd).
Next, the Beavers will compete at the 2025 SJNY Invitational at Sunken Meadow Park in Kings Park, NY.
