Purchase, NY - The City College of New York women's cross country team officially opened its 2026 season on Saturday, competing at the Purchase College Invitational.

Junior Karuna Aikawa led the way for the Beavers, finishing 24th overall with a time of 18:51.3. Aikawa's performance paced CCNY in its season-opening meet.

Freshman Allison Wang was next across the line for the Beavers, posting a time of 27:08.9 to finish 85th overall. Senior Maisha Islam rounded out CCNY's competitors, crossing the finish line in 30:18.9 and placing 92nd.

Next, CCNY will compete at the Osprey Open on September 19.
