Purchase, NY – The City College of New York baseball team earned their first win of the 2025 season on Sunday, spitting a non-conference doubleheader against Purchase College.
With the split, the Beavers sit at 1-3 on the season.
Game One: CCNY 12, Purchase 5
In game one, senior Michael Chasanov led the Beavers, going 3-for-5, with three RBI and a run scored in the win. Junior Eric Rank tallied three hits, three runs, and an RBI. Freshman Demetri Zirogiannis produced three RBIs, along with a pair of hits and a run scored.
Senior right-handed pitcher Brandon Paider earned his first win of the season, working a complete seven innings, recording three strikeouts, and allowing five runs on eight hits.
Game Two: Purchase 12, CCNY 11
In game two, Zirogiannis went 2-for-4, stacking up five RBI and scoring a run. Junior Kevin Budzinski tallied two hits, two runs, and an RBI. Chasanov finished with two hits and a run scored. Freshman Gerard Molinaro had a hit and two. RBI, while junior Rich Cirigliano scored two runs.
Next, the Beavers travel to take on New York University on Saturday, March 15, at SIUH Community Park in Staten Island, NY.
