NEW YORK, N.Y. — A tightly contested CUNYAC battle came down to the final possessions on Friday night, as CCNY dropped a 67–65 decision to Hunter College at the Hunter Sportsplex.

The Beavers trailed by three at halftime (33–30) but came out strong after the break, outscoring Hunter 35–34 in the second half and putting themselves in position to steal a road win. CCNY had chances late, but Hunter made just enough plays at the free-throw line to hold on.

Senior Michael Bowman added 14 points and three steals, while Junior Abdias Carcamo chipped in 13 points and dished out eight assists to pace the Beavers' offense. Senior Kayson Dinkins finished with 10 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers.
CCNY battled on the glass, outrebounding Hunter 45–38 and scoring 18 second-chance points, but struggled from the field, shooting 31.1 percent overall and 21.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Hunter was led by John Paul Maaba, who scored a game-high 19 points and went 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Jeremiah Otasowie and Jayden Jarrett each added 13 points, while Demetrios
Kontos pulled down 10 rebounds to help Hunter control key moments late.

The game featured four ties and five lead changes, reflecting the back-and-forth nature of the matchup. CCNY also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 19 points off Hunter miscues, but Hunter's 19 made free throws proved to be the difference in the two-point final.

With the loss, CCNY moves to 4–14 overall and 4–4 in CUNYAC play. The Beavers will look to bounce back as conference action continues.
