BRONXVILLE, N.Y. — The City College of New York women's volleyball team competed in a pair of matches Saturday at Sarah Lawrence College, falling to Regis College, 3-0, before dropping a 3-0 decision to host Sarah Lawrence in the afternoon.
In the opening match, Regis took the first set, 25-5, before securing the second and third sets, 25-15 and 25-14.
Rachael Reyes led the Beavers offensively with nine kills, while Danuzia Caixeta Palmer recorded 11 assists. Rosalynda Russo contributed six digs, while Patricia Brooks added five digs defensively.
CCNY returned to the court later in the afternoon against Sarah Lawrence. The Gryphons earned a 25-11, 25-13, 25-13 victory.
Ivanna Zamora Sanchez paced the Beavers with seven kills, while Reyes added four kills and Lesly Almonte recorded three. Yamilci Izquierdo finished with eight assists, while Caixeta Palmer contributed three assists.
Defensively, Russo registered nine digs, Reyes added seven and Zamora Sanchez recorded six. Reyes also tallied an ace, while Jia Hua Liu recorded a block.
