The City College of New York women's tennis team edged Lehman 5-4. The match originally began on Monday, October 12 at York College. The match was suspended due to time. At the time of suspension the score was tied 4-4 with CCNY's Louiza Molohides and Lehman's Elizaveta Ostania left to play the deciding match.

On Monday, the Beavers (1-4, 1-2 CUNYAC) started the match off quickly taking the lead. Doubles partners Louiza Molohides and Yasbelle Gamoso defeated Natalie Carrasquillo and Nadia Baba on court three to give the Beavers a 1-0 lead. Lehman took the doubles point on court two, but Charlotte Dulay and Minhal Mahmood took the victory on court one to put CCNY up 2-1 going into singles.

Dulay picked up another victory on the day when she took a 6-4, 6-3 win over Princess Roache in the number one positon. Gomes also notched a singles victory on court six with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Janet Garcia.

Lehman took control on courts two, three and five where Domica Roberts, Mahmood and Yacine Diouf were playing, respectively. The match was tied 4-4 as Molohides and Ostanina were playing their sets. Molohides took the first set 6-3, while Ostanina took the second set 4-6. With the final set for the two coming up to take the match for their team, Molohides took a 4-3 advantage. Ostanina retired which caused City to take the victory on court four and the match.

The team will travel to York College Courts to face conference opponent Baruch on Friday, October 16 at 3:30 p.m.
