NEW YORK, NY - The City College of New York lacrosse team suffered an 11-2 loss to New Paltz (Club) at Randall's Island on Saturday afternoon.  

Veteran Benjamin Variano opened the scoring for CCNY. In the closing seconds of the first half, Variano was able to bury a shot between the goalkeepers' legs for the Beavers first score.

Nayeem Hossain found the back of the net in the fourth period on an unassisted goal for the team's second score.

Variano led CCNY with six shots and two ground ball. Otabek Azimov took two shot attempts in the game while Hossain had four ground balls.

In goal, freshman Adonis Diaz made 12 saves with two ground balls in his third start.

CCNY will host Monmouth University (Club) on Saturday, Mar. 24 at 1:00 pm.
