Wayne, NJ - The City College of New York men's basketball team opened the 2022-23 campaign on Tuesday night, dropping a non-conference contest on the road to William Paterson University, 83-75.

Yassine Sakhi led the scoring for the Beavers finishing with 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists in 33 minutes of action. Freshman
Ricardo Dixon had an impressive debut for CCNY, adding 17 points and five rebounds. Senior
Daniel Piszczatowski posted 13 points, seven boards, and a pair of assists.

Dashaun Galloway poured in nine points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Sophomore
Bayame Bah tallied five points and seven rebounds, while junior
Amir Assani ended the night with four points and a pair of blocks.
Four players led William Paterson in double-figures. Neftali Valentin led the Pioneers off the bench with 19 points. Michael Gilmore chipped in 16 points and ten rebounds, while Tyreek Montgomery and Shawn Summers Jr. each had 16 points apiece.
The Beavers outshot the Pioneers in the game, 43.9 % -40.4 %, while William Paterson held a slight advantage in rebounding, 39-37.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday, November 12, on the road against Mount Saint Mary College at 1:00 p.m.
