CCNY Baseball Swept by Manhattanville on the Road

Purchase, NY - The City College of New York baseball program fell on the road Saturday afternoon, dropping a pair of non-conference games to Manhattanville College. 

Game One - Manhattanville 9, CCNY 1
Tyler DiBlasi went 2-for-3 in game one, while John Creegan finished 2-for-4 and produced an RBI. Ethan Angress added a hit and the Beaver's lone run in the game. Jonathan Rivera, Stephen Suprun, and  Eric Romero.

The Beaver's lone run came in the first inning when Creegan Singled to right field to score Angress.

Freshman right-handed pitcher Jack Daly took the loss, working the first 4.0 innings. Right-handed pitcher Brandon Paider closed out the final 2.0 innings on the mound for the Beavers.

Game Two - Manhattanville 19, CCNY 4
The Beavers struck early in game two, taking a 3-0 after the first inning. Johnathan Rivera batted in Tyler DiBlasi for CCNY's first run on an RBI single to center field. Next, Ethan Angress reached home on a wild pitch for the team's second score with bases loaded. Austin Ortiz drove in the inning's third run, scoring Sardar Khanbilvardi on an RBI single.

Manhattanville responded strongly, producing 18 runs on 15 hits and four errors across the next six innings. 

The Beavers tallied their fourth run in the sixth frame when Ortiz scored on a double play.

Next, CCNY returns to competition on Tuesday, Apr. 19, with a midweek contest against Stevens Institute of Technology.
