Yaphank, NY - The City College of New York baseball team dropped a non-conference road matchup on Sunday, falling to Maritime College, 9-6. With the loss, the Beavers fall to 5-22 overall.
CCNY struck first with a pair of runs in the first inning. 
Austin Ortiz drove in the first on an RBI fly-ball to center field, scoring 
John Creegan. 
Eric Romero batted in 
Michael Chasanov for the second run on an RBI single to right field to take a 2-0 lead.
Maritime responded quickly in the bottom of the first, tallying three runs. Austen Bishop brought in the first run on an RBI hit-by-pitch with bases loaded. Adam Mosca followed with an RBI walk, and Anthony Madigan drove in the third run on an RBI single. Maritime added another run in the second frame to extend their lead to 4-2. 
In the fourth inning, the Privateers added two more runs behind Bishop's two-RBI homer down the right-field line, pushing their lead to 7-2.
Jonathan Rivera knocked an RBI single to first base to score 
Wellington Gomez in the fifth. 
Ethan Angress scored the next run for the Beavers, reaching home on a wild pitch. 
Michael Chasanov drove in the final run of the frame with an RBI single to right field, scoring Rivera to bring the game within two runs, 7-5.
With bases loaded and no outs in the sixth, 
Victor Murra Schott scored on a balk to cut Maritime's lead to one run, 7-6.
With runners on second and third in the bottom of the sixth, Ryan Rockhill tacked on two more runs for the Privateers with a two-RBI single, handing  Maritime a 9-6 advantage.
Chasanov finished the afternoon going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Rivera went 2-for-4, scoring two twice with an RBI. 
Eric Romero had two hits and RBI, while 
Ethan Angress had a hit and a run scored.
Next, CCNY rounds out the final week of the regular season with a non-conference contest against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday, Apr. 27, at 5:00 p.m. in Kings Park, NY.
