Kings Park, NY - On Wednesday, The City College of New York baseball team dropped an 18-5 decision to the United States Merchant Marine Academy in non-conference action.
John Creegan scored the first run of the evening in the opening inning on
Michael Chasanov's RBI sacrifice fly-ball.
USMMA responded with six runs in the bottom of the first, tallying runs on two hits and three errors. USMMA added two more runs in the second inning, driving in runs on Travis Leatherwood's two-RBI single.
Jonathan Rivera sparked the rally in the third with an RBI single down the right-field line. With bases loaded,
Victor Murra Schott launched a three-RBI triple to right-center field, cutting USMMA's lead to three runs, 8-5.
USMMA answered with two runs in the bottom of the third, extending their lead to 10-5.
USMMA tallied eight unanswered runs in the final three frames to secure an 18-5 victory over the Beavers.
Rivera finished 2-for-4, with an RBI and a run scored. Murra Schott tallied a hit and three RBIs.

Sardar Khanbilvardi,
Jason Rodriguez, and
Angel Vega all had a hit in the contest.
The Beavers are back in action on Saturday, Apr. 30, in their CUNY Athletic Conference finale against John Jay College. The first pitch of the doubleheader is set for noon at Ohio Field in the Bronx, NY.
