Jamaica, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team extended their win to five straight games on Friday night, defeating York College on the road, 74-68. The Beavers move to 10-6 overall and remain unbeaten in CUNY Athletic Conference play, improving to 5-0.
The Beavers were led by senior
Daniel Piszczatowski, who finished with a team-high 22 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals. Junior
Nana Oteng tallied a season-high 20 points, connecting on 4-of-5 from beyond the arc while adding six rebounds and three assists.

Amir Assani notched his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Senior
Dashaun Galloway chipped in nine points, two rebounds, a game-high seven assists, and two steals. Sophomore Bayame Bah picked up four points and six rebounds, while
Abdoul Tandia added a season-high six and five rebounds in 18 minutes of action.
The Beavers started the game with the hot hand, outscoring the Cardinals 22-2 to open the game. The Cardinals closed out the half strong, outscoring CCNY 20-6 in the final eight minutes to close their gap to seven points (35-28) entering halftime.
In the second half, the Beavers knocked down four of their first six shots to build up a 13-point lead (44-31) with 17:37 to go. York responded back with a 9-1 run to cut CCNY's lead to five (45-40) with under 14 minutes left (13:35).
Later in the half, a pair of free throws by the Cardinals with under five minutes helped bring the game within three points (65-62). The Beavers held off the Cardinals in the game's final minutes, pulling out a 74-68 victory.
Next, the Beavers return to the Nat Holman Gymnasium on Wednesday, Jan. 18, hosting Brooklyn College at 7:00 p.m.
