New York, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team picked up its sixth straight victory on Wednesday night as the Beavers defeated Brooklyn College at home, 80-64.
The Beavers remain the top team in the CUNY Athletic Conference, holding an unblemished 6-0 mark in league play while improving to 11-6 overall on the season.
CCNY started on a 17-6 run in the game's first five minutes, nailing four three-pointers. Later in the half, back-to-back three-pointers by the Beavers helped boost their lead margin to 15 (34-19) with 8:08 to go in the half.
The Beavers knocked down a season-high 11 three-pointers in the contest. Junior
Nana Oteng paced the Beavers with a career-high 25 points, going 7-of-11 from the field and five-of-eight from long range.
Senior
Daniel Piszczatowski finished with 18 points, draining a season-high three three-pointers. Sophomore
Bayame Bah tallied a season-high 10 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Junior
Amir Assani added nine points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Senior
Dashaun Galloway picked up four points, six rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and a block.
Freshman
Michael Bowman netted eight points and four rebounds, while
Ricardo Dixon recorded six points and seven rebounds.
Next, CCNY will host Hunter College on Friday, Jan. 20, at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at 8:00 p.m.
