Newark, NJ - The City College of New York baseball team returned to competition on Sunday, dropping a non-conference contest against Rutgers-Newark, 7-2, on the road.
Freshman
Chris Lamond led the Beavers going 2-for-4. Outfielder
Jonathan Rivera finished with a hit and a run scored. Outfielder
Tyler DiBlasi tallied a hit and an RBI.
Lamond scored the Beaver's first run on
John Creegan's ground-out RBI in the third. The Beaver's second run came on DiBlasi's RBI single to center field, driving in Rivera.
On the mound, right handed-pitcher
James Dean Johnstone earned his second start of the season, recording three strikeouts in 3.0 innings. Sophomore
Brandon Paider worked the next three frames, earning three strikeouts.
