Kings Point, NY - The City College of New York women's track & field team completed on Sunday at the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational, placing fifth overall.
Sophomore
Serena Warner was Beaver's top performer, collecting three top-five finishes. In the shot put, she placed third with a throw of (9.76m). In the javelin, she turned in a fourth-place finish (20.13m) and added a fifth-place showing in the discus throw (25.53m).
Sophomore
Zara McPartland ran to a second-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 14:44.29. In javelin throw, McPartland notched a second-place with a toss of 20.96m and finished sixth in the high jump (1.35m).
Freshman
Samantha Maendel netted a time of 30.20 in the 200m dash, taking fifth overall. Freshman
Zuha Khan placed fourth in the 100m hurdles in a personal-best time of 19.20. Sophomore
Leondra Craig finished sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 8.00m.
The Beavers 4x100m relay team of McPartland,
Aakaysha Williams, Maendel, and
Kaylin Soto won the event in a season-best time of
57.12.
Next, the CCNY track and field program will compete at the Osprey Open on Saturday, April 8.
