CCNY Women's Track & Field Showcases Impressive Performance, Finishes Third at 2024 CUNYAC Outdoor Championships

New York, NY - The City College of New York women's track & field placed third overall on Saturday at the 2024 CUNY Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at Icahn Stadium.

Junior Serena Warner led the Beavers with five top-ten finishes. Warner captured first-place finishes in the shot put (10.26m) and discus throw (29.01m), both personal-best performances. She also placed third in the javelin throw (26.20m), fifth in the hammer throw (24.38m), and ninth in the long jump (3.88m).

Freshman Flor Dominguez won the 3,000m steeplechase, capturing the crown with a personal-best time of 14:48.51. Dominguez also produced a sixth-place finish in the 400m hurdles at 1:28.90.

Freshman Camille Carrasco ran to a third-place finish in the 200m dash, clocking a personal-best time of 1:06.94, and finished fourth in the 800m run in a career-best time of 2:57.62. Junior Anais Rosa posted a sixth-place performance in the 400m dash, running 1:10.22. Freshman Angelina Brown placed fifth in the 400m hurdles at 1:27.19. 

Freshman Isabelle Ashpole paced the Beavers in the distance events, tallying a fourth-place finish in the 10,000m run with a personal-best time of 50:55.74, and picked up a pair of fifth-place finishes in the 1,500m (6:34.36) and 5,000m (27:30.95) runs. Freshman Seren Yiacoup took sixth in the 1,500m run in a time of 8:47.28, while freshman Maisha Islam finished fifth in the 10,000m run in 1:11:30.98.

In the 4x400m relay, Carrasco, Brown, Kaylin Soto, and Anais Rosa led CCNY to first-place performance in a time of 5:01.78. The 4x100m relay team consisting of Brown, Kaylin Soto, Samantha Johnson, and Leondra Craig finished fifth overall in a season-best time of 59.24.
