Bronx, NY - The City College of New York baseball team powered past Lehman College Friday evening, opening CUNY Athletic Conference Play with a pair of wins over the Lightning. The Beavers are now 5-13 overall and 2-0 in league play, while the Lightning fall to 0-11.
Game One - CCNY 16, Lehman 3
In game one, freshman 
Jake Brenner led the Beavers, finishing the game 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. Junior 
Stephen Suprun went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. Sophomore 
Rich Cirigliano tallied two hits, three RBI, and two runs, while junior 
Bryan Lopez scored two hits, two RBI, and a pair of runs. Junior 
Michael Chasanov picked up two hits and drove in four RBI.

Brandon Paider earned the win on the mound, striking out seven in seven innings, a season-high.
Game Two - CCNY 23, Lehman 13
In the nightcap, the Beavers scored a season-high 23 runs, racking up 20 hits in the victory. Cirigliano highlighted the contest, going 4-for-5, including two home runs, with a career-high seven RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore 
Kevin Budzinski went 4-for-5 with three RBI and four runs. Junior 
Alex Montanile finished 3-for-5, tallying four RBI and three runs.
On the mound, sophomore 
Erik Rank earned the win, producing a season-high six strikeouts in four innings. Senior 
Austin Ortiz appeared in 1.0 inning, while senior 
Anthony Reda worked 1.0 frame, recording a season-high two strikeouts. Freshman 
Ethan Lopez closed out the final inning, tallying a season-high three strikeouts.
