Kings Point, NY - The City College of New York men's track and field team competed on Sunday at the 2024 Coach Omeltchenko Invitational, hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
Freshman Toufique Mahmud finished ninth overall in the 400-meter dash, running a personal-best time of 53.32. Mahmud also ran a time of 24.56 in the 200m dash, placing 13th.
In the 3000-meter Steeplechase, freshman Gian-Carlo Riehl placed sixth overall in a time of 11:51.35, while junior
Christian Rasmussen finished 10th in a time of 13:03.53.

Antonio Oliveira-Nurseran finished ninth in the 400m hurdles, running a season-best time of 1:05.22. He also turned in a career-best performance in the triple jump, leaping 11.27m, and had a personal-best mark in the high jump (1.60m).

Tyler Gaston led the Beavers in the throws, taking 15th in the shot put with a toss of 9.17m. Freshman Nicolae Burlacu finished 18th overall in the discus throw (24.71m).
Next, the Beavers will compete at the Queens College Knights Invite on Friday, April 12.
