CCNY Men's Track & Field Delivers Strong Performance, Securing Second Place at 2024 CUNYAC Outdoor Championships

New York, NY - The City College of New York men's track & field placed second overall at the 2024 CUNY Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Icahn Stadium.

Freshman Isaiah Slater led the Beavers in the field events, capturing a duo first-place performances in the long jump (6.48m) and the triple jump (12.42m). Freshman Brandon Green collected a fourth-place finish in the long jump (5.70m) and took sixth in the triple jump (11.15m).

Junior Antonio Oliveira-Nurse dominated the senior college section of the hurdles, winning the 400m hurdles in a personal-best time of 1:03.59 and winning the 110m hurdles in a career-best time of 17.05. Nurse also placed second in the triple jump with a career-best leap of 12.40m and took fourth in the pole vault (1.98m 6' 6").

Freshman Gian-Carlo Riehl earned a first-place finish in the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 12:02.26. In the 1500m run, Riehl added a third-place finish, posting a time of 4:40.77.

Freshman Toufique Mahmud placed fourth in the 400m dash, running a personal-best time of 52.38. Toufique also had a top-five finish in the 800m run, clocking a time of 2:13.30. Senior Damian Rivera posted a pair of sixth-place performances in the 5,000 (24:20.72) and 10,000 meters (50:14.17) runs, while junior Christian Rasmussen runs to a fifth-place finish in the 5,000m (45:31.33).

Senior Taylor Gaston had a pair of top-ten finishes, picking up a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw (36.07m) and sixth-shot put (10.19m). Freshman Nicolae Burlacu placed sixth in the discus with a toss of 26.04m and drew in a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw (27.67m).

In the javelin, freshman Brandon Jorge Corporan added a fifth-place finish (34.50m), while sophomore Harreek Summan took sixth (30.75m).

In the relays, the Beavers 4x400m relay team of Slater, Riehl, Oliveira-Nurse, and Mahmud finished second overall in a season-best time of 3:42.23. In the 4x100m relay, Slater, Brandon Green, Mahmud, and Oliveira-Nurse led CCNY to third-place performance in a time of 45.86.
