Hot Shooting Leads CCNY Men's Basketball to 100-57 Win Over Hunter

Box Score New York, NY – The City College of New York men's basketball team turned in a highly efficient offensive effort Friday evening, defeating Hunter College, 100-57, at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. 

The victory marks their highest point total of the season, improving to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.

The Beavers shot a season-high 56.1 percent from the floor and nailed 14 three-pointers in the contest, their best performances of the season. Senior Edward Beqiri led the Beavers with a career-high 32 points, going 11-of-17 from the field and five-of-seven from beyond the arc.

Senior Chris Stone finished with 17 points, a game-high nine assists, six rebounds, and two steals in the win. Junior Justin Morety tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and a pair of steaks in 31 minutes of action. Junior Ricardo Dixon posted his fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds, along with four assists, two blocks, and two steals.

Off the bench, junior Michael Bowman Bowman added 14 points, shooting four-of-six fro three point range. Freshman Arturo Macchia added six points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Senior Elijah Patterson finished with four points and four rebounds.

Next, the Beavers travel to take on John Jay College on Wednesday, January 22 at 8:00 p.m.
