Box Score Montclair, NJ – The CCNY men's basketball team dropped its opening contest of the 2018 Ollie Gelston Classic to Moravian College, 89-78 on Friday night in Montclair, NJ at the Panzer Athletic Center.
The Beavers shot just 44.4% from the field in the contest with the Greyhounds connecting on 46.6% of their attempts. CCNY held a 42-37 advantage on the boards.
Junior
Ty-Ler Banks ended the game with his second straight double-double. The Salt Point, NY native netted a game-high 24 points, shooting 11-of-19 from the field and pulled down a game-high 20 rebounds. Junior
Romello Rashad scored 13 points in the contest, converting all six of his free throw from the foul line. He also added nine rebounds, six steals, and four assists in the loss.
Sophomore
Ian Javier scored in double-figures in his second straight, finishing with 12 points, while junior
Isaiah Denard notched 11 points. Senior
Mike White dished out a game-high six assist and chipped in five points.
Moravian had four scorers in double-digits led by 20 points from Oneil Holder. Nicholas Casazza added 17 points while Jimmy Murray scored 12 points and Keith Otto ended with 10.
CCNY closes out play in Ollie Gelston Classic tomorrow against Montclair State at 12:00 pm.
