CANTON, NY -- On Saturday afternoon, the City College of New York men's cross country team concluded the 2019 season at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships. Competing in frigid temperatures on a snow-covered Hoffman Cross Country Course, the Beavers placed 35th overall with 1010 team points.
In his final cross country race as a Beaver,
Merlin Padilla Jr. (New York, NY) finished in 121st place. He posted a time of 27:24.1 over 8000 meters.
Octavio Diaz (New York, NY) and
Edy Morales (Brooklyn, NY) crossed the line back-to-back. Diaz was 216th in 29:21.1, followed by Morales in 217th with a 29:23.2 clocking.
Simeon Kleinsasser (Brooklyn, NY) recorded a time of 29:34.0, which was good for 221st place, while
Jules Day (Brooklyn, NY) ended up 235th after completing the course in 30:03.2.
The Beavers finished 35th out of 42 teams. Geneseo and RPI clinched berths in the NCAA Championships by taking first and second in the team standings.
