New York, NY - The City College of New York women's soccer team was clicking on all cylinders Wednesday night, as the Beavers defeated Saint Elizabeth University with a shutout 10-0 victory. The Beavers improve to 3-1-1 on the season with the win.
The Beavers outshot Saint Elizabeth, 34-0 in the contest, landing 27 shots on goal.
The Beavers opened the scoring in the 10th minute when junior
Cassidy Canberg netted her first goal of the season. In the 12th minute, Canberg found the back of the net again to give CCNY a 2-0 lead. Junior
Skylar Parker nailed a pair of goals in the 17th and 18th minutes, growing her total to five makers this season.
Sophomore
MacKenzie Moreno joined in on the scoring in the 21st minute and followed up with another successful shot in the 40th minute, extending the Beaver's lead to 6-0 late in the half. Parker booted in a shot for her third goal of the night in the 42nd before Moreno closed out the half with her third goal of the evening in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, junior
Sela Schneidinger led the scoring for the Beavers, tallying two pair to secure a 10-0 victory for the Beavers.
In goal, sophomore
Rosario Baltazar earned her first win of the season, facing no shots in goal. Freshman
Laila Issa started in goal in the second, facing no shots.
Sophomore
Deniz Zeynep Sonmez finished the night with two assists and four shots.
Charlotte Foberg,
Nicole Magretta,
Sharon Garcia, Villatoro, Paker, and Moreno each added an assist.
