New York, NY - The City College of New York women's track & field team competed at the NYU DIII Invitational on Saturday at the Armory Track & Field Center, facing a competitive Division III field.
Freshman Mikelena Bouzy led CCNY in the sprints, qualifying for the 60-meter finals after posting an 8.14 in preliminaries and finishing seventh overall. Bouzy also competed in the 200 meters, clocking a 26.50 to cap a strong day on the track.
In the middle-distance events, Fahmida Choudhury recorded a 1:17.30 performance in the 400 meters, while Hannah Tien paced CCNY in the 800 meters with a time of 2:59.64. Susan Smolaga represented the Beavers in the mile, finishing in 6:45.43.
Hailey Thomas competed in both hurdle and field events, running 12.10 in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries and recording a best mark of 4.08 meters in the long jump. In the throws,
Serena Warner delivered a standout performance, placing 10th in the shot put with a mark of 11.18 meters and adding an 11.30-meter throw in the weight throw.
The meet concluded with CCNY's 4x400 relay team of Smolaga, Tien, Choudhury, and Natalya Golia finishing in 5:08.11, closing out a full day of competition for the Beavers.
